About us

We’re Capital Squares. Nice to meet you.

A Raleigh square dance club built on a simple idea: the fastest way to make friends is to need each other. Every Tuesday, we turn a church hall into the friendliest room in town.

Our story

Why we dance.

[Your story goes here: a few sentences about how Capital Squares started, who started it and why. Keep it personal and honest. Visitors love an origin story.]

Here’s what we believe: square dancing is one of the best-kept secrets for making real friends as an adult. It’s social, it’s silly, and it gets eight strangers working as a team within minutes.

Your caller

Meet Eva Murray.

Eva is the voice of Capital Squares. As our caller, Eva calls every move in real time, chooses the music and keeps the energy high and the mood light.

[Add a sentence or two about how Eva got into square dancing and calling, and what Eva loves most about teaching beginners.]

What we believe

Four promises we make to every dancer.

Everyone’s welcome

Any age, any background, any gender, any level of rhythm. If you want to dance, there’s a spot in the square for you.

Mistakes are the fun part

Everybody goes the wrong way sometimes. We laugh, we reset, we keep going.

Nobody sits out

No partner needed, ever. We make sure every dancer finds a square.

Friends first

We’re a social club that happens to dance. The friendships are the point.

Come and meet us on a Tuesday.
